Lea is currently completing her masters degree. She is a wife and mother to three boys aged 21, 11 and 1! She has a busy, busy life. One of her passions is awareness and suicide prevention among First Nations youth in Canada. She is a Registered Nurse who works full time in pediatric/adolescent mental health.

Lea told me that she has never been professionally photographed. So hard to believe! Better late than never, though.

So, why now?

"I guess to see what it's like to have a photoshoot and have a keepsake of a very big milestone in my life! My 'midlife' plus I've struggled for years to accept myself and I feel I am at peace with my inner demons!!"

I absolutely loved photographing this beautiful woman with her amazing tattoos and gorgeous smile. She reminds me of Angelina Jolie in some of her images, but she totally rocks a look that is all her own.

Like any mother of a toddler, Lea appreciates the things that many of us take for granted:

"I feel most beautiful after a shower!! I have a 1yr old....its the little things!"

About being a woman, she says:

"Being a woman means 'power'. I believe in being a strong woman! I adore passion and drive and women with those traits are my role models!! I believe in education...a strong mind and strong body!!"

And, similar to most women, Lea had fears going into this. After all, she had never been photographed before.

"My biggest fear is probably that I will not look like my once perfect 30yr old self... Afraid to see what I actually look like!! Lol"

Well, Lea, I hope your fears have been dispelled. You are absolutely GORGEOUS and I hope you step in front of the camera more often from now on. Your kids will cherish having beautiful portraits of their mom at every stage of her life.
