'I just need to feel better about me.'

Sometimes we need a little pick-me-up. This was the case for Laurie. She is 48 years old and lives in the house she grew up in. Last year, her mom was admitted to a nursing home and then died unexpectedly.

I think that participating in 30 Days of Gorgeous is just what Laurie needed to lift her spirits. She was bright and bubbly throughout the makeover and photoshoot. We had so much fun!

Why did she apply to be a part of this project? Laurie said:

"I just need to feel better about me."

And I am so glad that she did this for herself. Having a makeover and photoshoot is a great way to feel better about yourself. Especially when you "can't remember the last time" you were photographed.

Laurie said that the thing she loves about herself is her smile "(don't do it often enough)". Well, we had her smiling all the time, and it was a beautiful thing.

Laurie had her fears but loved her photoshoot experience.
