Soccer Superstar

My youngest son is so enthusiastic about playing soccer that when it first started up this spring, he wore the full gear for three days straight.  Including the shin guards and shoes!  He doesn't just walk on the field and kick the ball around.  He bounces, spins, yells and smiles with delight at every practice, and every game.  He has two amazing coaches and a team full of adorable teammates, who I know he looks forward to seeing every Tuesday and Thursday!  This is a time in his life that he will love to remember and look back on.

For this reason, I knew I had to capture a strong image of him as a soccer player, while he is so in love with it.  In April, I was fortunate to attend a seminar and demonstration with Ben Shirk, who is an amazing sports portrait photographer and composite artist.  He takes images in his studio and then places them into scenes that he has photographed or drawn separately.  Using the skills I learned that day, I set to create this image of my soccer superstar.  I can't wait to add this to his bedroom wall!
