Meet Crystal.  This is her story:

"I am a 55 year old woman who was divorced and raised 2 daughters on my own. I met the love of life in my late 30’s. About a year after we married, our world crashed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. There was no other option but to fight....and I had the fight of my life ahead of me. After recovering, my husband had many health issues that we had to fight together. I’m a nana to my husband’s 17 year old grandchildren, G-ma to my 11 month old grandson and grandma to be to my unborn grandchild. I love life. I love my family. I love to travel. I love to laugh."

What does beauty mean to you?

"Beauty as they say “is in the eye of the beholder “: I think if someone is kind, caring and loving....they are more beautiful. A person who is courageous...is beautiful. A person who’s smile reaches their eyes, is beautiful. Beauty is more than skin deep. Beauty is more than a perfect face.... it also includes what the person is like inside."

When do you feel most beautiful?

"I feel most beautiful when I’m in my husband’s arms."

What does being a woman mean to you?

"A woman is a mother, wife, and grandmother. A woman is strong and courageous. A woman is soft and caring. There are many sides to a woman."

What do you love about yourself?

"I am strong, caring and loving. I’m a wife, mother, grandmother. I am an individual. I am positive."

What is your biggest fear about having your portrait taken?

"My biggest fear is that people will make negative comments about me (body)."
